Robbins Center Multilingual Project 2026

Generously funded by the Mabel Riley Foundation, the Robbins Center Multilingual Project 2026 aims to enhance speech and language services for multilingual clients through specialized graduate clinician training and increased access in the client’s native language using culturally and linguistically responsive, evidenced based techniques.

Summer & Fall 2026: Spanish – English Services
Children Ages 3-14

More languages coming soon!

Children who are exposed to more than one language may be referred for an evaluation or treatment services if they demonstrate difficulty in the following areas in all languages they are exposed to:

  • Understanding (i.e., receptive language)
  • Generating language (i.e., expressive language)
  • Pronunciation or speaking (i.e., articulation)
  • Communicating socially
  • Speaking fluently (e.g., stuttering)

Individualized Services

Individualized evaluations and therapy will be provided in the client’s languages by graduate students who will be supervised by licensed and experienced bilingual speech language pathologists. Caregivers are encouraged to be involved and learn techniques and strategies to use at home.

Community Partnerships

Speech and language screenings in Spanish and English will be provided in various community based organizations and schools to increase access to improve accurate identification of communication disorders in multilingual children.
